Turning Stones into Hearts

The transformative project “Turning Stones into Hearts” originated when Kim placed a symbolic wooden heart on a chain in the heart of Barcelona, directly in front of the MACBA (Museum of Contemporary Art). The resounding success of this initial gesture inspired the evolution of the concept. As Inject Love took shape, Hans envisioned the transformation of the wooden heart into a substantial concrete form, a material requiring the collaborative effort of six or more people to lift. This vision materialized into a series of significant concrete heart stones, each weighing over 100 kilograms.

Beyond being commissioned as unique art pieces, these concrete hearts held special significance, including one created for a wedding adorned with the initials of the newly married couple. The weight of the hearts metaphorically mirrored the gravity of emotions and connections, making each piece not only a physical presence but a symbol of enduring love and shared strength. “Turning Stones into Hearts” exemplifies the fusion of art and sentiment, turning ordinary objects into profound expressions of love and unity.
